Southern Highlands Country Retreat

Returning to their hometown and pastures new, our client engaged MILEHAM to envisage a contemporary country design that is both timeless and classic. Initially intended as a country weekender escape, the design needed the capability to later transition to accommodate as our client’s full time family home in the coming years.

In complements to the Yarrawa Brush, this family home seeks to rejuvenate the connection to the natural features of the site, becoming embedded in the landscape while offering contemporary qualities that are at once both unique and enriching. 

The core design works to encapsulate stunning views to the NNW, taking advantage of the natural light and fresh mountain air. The living areas are intentionally orientated towards the local views of waterways, in a restrained arrangement that demonstrates sympathy toward the historical past of Robertson.
