Grand Country Hamptons
Set on an established block in East Tamworth, with the Moonbi Range across the horizon, Grand Country Hamptons is a new five-bedroom home designed to bring a coastal style inland. Rather than renovate the house that stood here previously, the owners chose to rebuild from the ground up, so the home could be planned around the view, the northern light, and the way the family lives.
Hamptons homes are usually coastal in style, so building one deep inland – in a climate of deeply hot summers and frosty cold winters – meant designing for the conditions, not just the look. High ceilings and cross-ventilation are intended to keep the house cool through summer, and the alfresco is sheltered so it can be used year-round, even on a cold night. A formal foyer and double-height void lead through to the main living room, which opens to the garden and pool. Behind the kitchen sit a butler’s pantry and mudroom – the practical spaces that keep everyday mess out of the way when guests are over.
The five bedrooms are spread across two levels, with the main bedroom in its own wing: a sitting room, balcony, skylit walk-in robe and a steam-shower ensuite. Inside, the palette is warm and restrained with travertine, oak and soft neutrals, giving rooms a generous feel without feeling cold or overly formal.
Elegant yet deeply liveable, this is Hamptons architecture with a distinctly Australian soul.
Coastal Elegance in a Country Setting

While inspired by the relaxed sophistication of the American East Coast, this home’s material palette is deeply connected to its regional Australian setting. White weatherboard cladding, sandstone detailing and charcoal accents establish a timeless exterior presence, while inside, layers of natural stone, warm timber and soft neutrals create an atmosphere of understated luxury. Carefully framed sightlines lend a sense of rhythm and refinement throughout the interiors, balancing grandeur with comfort. Every element has been considered to feel enduring rather than trend-driven, resulting in a home that is elegant yet approachable – equally suited to large family gatherings, quiet mornings overlooking the landscape, and the everyday rituals that define country living.
