About MILEHAM Architects + Builders

MILEHAM is not your typical residential construction company. We blend architectural excellence with hands-on building expertise to deliver residential projects that set new standards in design, quality, and client experience. As we expand, we’re seeking a Site Manager who is more than a manager - they’re a leader, self-starter, and a change-maker ready to take ownership of projects and drive our construction arm to new levels of efficiency and efficacy.

Why This Role Matters

We are growing, and with growth comes opportunity. This role isn’t about following instructions - it’s about leading, innovating, and taking charge. You will be the person who ensures your projects run smoothly, teams perform at their best, and clients are delighted. You’ll help shape how our construction arm operates, introducing processes, improving efficiency, and leaving your mark on every project.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the delivery of projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire your team of apprentices, foremen, and subcontractors, cultivating accountability, collaboration, and performance excellence.

  • Act as the go-to problem solver on-site - anticipating challenges, making decisions, and keeping projects on track.

  • Manage contracts, variations, and progress claims with precision and professionalism.

  • Implement quality control measures, risk mitigation strategies, and safety protocols that exceed industry standards.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors and other team members, ensuring clear communication and trust at every stage.

  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost savings, and process efficiencies to elevate project outcomes.

Who You Are

  • A proactive self-starter who doesn’t wait to be told what to do - you see what needs to be done and make it happen.

  • A natural leader who inspires respect, accountability, and high performance from your team.

  • Solutions-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • A strategic thinker with strong emotional intelligence - you handle stakeholders with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.

  • You recognise the evolving landscape of SaaS and AI and are comfortable to move towards, identify and implement the relevant opportunities these tools have on offer to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

  • Experienced in residential construction project management, with a track record of successful projects and confident financial oversight.

  • Committed to delivering excellence, improving processes, and shaping a culture of efficiency and growth.

  • Strong understanding of the NCC and Australian Building Standards

  • Strong understanding of contract management, budgets, project planning, quality control, and safety compliance.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and subcontractors.

  • Ability to operate independently while driving projects forward efficiently and effectively

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Australian Resident
